Celebrating 400 Years of Don Quixote!
This coming April 23 we celebrate 400 years of the death of one of the most important authors of the world Don Miguel De Cervantes Saavedra and we are going to Celebrate it!
And with the aim of bringing the performing arts closer in Spanish
to students of primary and secondary level, in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County, while contributing to the formation of young people
spectators, the Hispano-American Actoral Society, better known by its acronyms (SAH), carries out an External Action program: functions for schools with inputs to symbolic values so that students of all levels can come into contact with authors and fundamental works for its formation, as it is the case of: “The Adventures of Don Quijote for Kids”
Don Quixote is the main character of the famous work of the writer Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote de la Mancha. Up to here everything normal,
But, who is Don Quixote de la Mancha? what very few know, is that the character is also known under the nickname of ‘The Knight of the sad figure’. Many have already been readers who have surrendered to the charms of this chivalric novel, which knows no languages and has already crossed all borders.
Thanks to the “Theater in the School” our actors recreate the facts in a simple and interactive explanation, Don Quixote for children also serves as an introduction to the novel to motivate all children to read the book Don Quixote.
Don Quixote, is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding works of Spanish literature and universal literature and one of the most translated. This work by Cervantes was the inspiration for “The Adventures of Don Quixote for Kids”, written by the actor and Director Miguel Sahid. This fascinating story of knights and maidens will keep all its spectators in suspense for a space of almost an hour, bringing big and small to such an important text and what is better in our language, Spanish.
